Take a look now at our extensive size guide below and see just how easy it is to make that all-important decision.
Please note skip sizes are subject to small variations from region to region, because suppliers use different skip fabricators.
If you need a skip with a drop end door, be sure to note this on our booking form. Not all suppliers provide drop end skips. If they do, they normally start from a 3 yard and go up to a 6 yard with a door.
As a general rule if you need to place a skip on the public highway, i.e the road or verge. the biggest the council will allow in the road would and 8 yard to 10 yard depending on the council.
If you would like more information on placing a skip on the public highway a good starting point is the Government website, here you will find further details.
When choosing the right skip size for you, consider the waste type you are filling the skip with before you place your order.
If you are wanting to fill the skip with heavy material such as soil (mud) / rubble (hardcore /bricks) the largest skip size for this type of waste would be a 6 yard / 8 yard builders skip.
Larger skip sizes would make the skips to heavy to lift and could damage driveways.
