The general rule is that heavy waste should go in 2-8 yard skips. Heavy waste is defined as clay, soil, builders waste and concrete. If you are only disposing of light waste you have all sizes up to 16 yard available for you.

We usually recommend putting your skip on your driveway if you have adequate room. If not a front garden or designated parking space can also work. However, if you don’t have private property suitable for a skip you would be needing a road permit. A road permit allows for you to put the skip either in the road or on council/public property.
